Human intelligence has been one of the most studied (and probably most debated) concepts in the area field of psychology and behavioral sciences. The source of differing mental abilities has been a time-honoured source of debate. A variety of approaches have been introduced to define and measure intelligence for practical purposes (like predicting academic achievements, career potential, job fitment etc.). As per the most acceptable and practical definitions, intelligence relates to a range of differing capabilities, such as the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend ideas and language, and learn.

There are several ways to define intelligence, but for most practical purposes the intelligence is defined as a multi-faceted concept composed of different aspects, such as numerical, verbal and logical factors. The (Intelligence Quotient Test) evaluates the speed of a person's reasoning abilities on these factors.

Psychometric validation

    This test was subject to a statistical validation study carried out on thousands of individuals. We found that the distribution of scores for these three factors (Numerical, Verbal and Logical) is normal, with an average close to 5 and a standard deviation close to 1.5.

Your IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is calculated from your raw scores relating to these three factors. Firstly, raw scores for each of the logical, verbal and numerical factors are transformed into a single weighted mean score ranging from 1 to 10.

Then, all the mean scores are converted so that the average should come to 100 with a standard deviation of 15 according to the formula below:

IQ = (Person X – Population X) / Population SD) * 15 +100

Where,
Person X= weighted mean score of the test taker from the three dimensions. Population X= weighted mean score of population from the three dimensions. Population SD= standard deviation of population’s score.

While calculating the weighted mean score, this test gives equal share to each of the Logical, Verbal and Numerical factors. Scores on Logical, Verbal and Numerical intelligence (on a scale of 1 to 10) are additionally deduced from the answers given (from the questions specific to these factors).
