Emotional Intelligence is one of the key concepts of modern management. Indeed, the "logical" intelligence is not enough when it comes to managing people and being effective in the corporate world. Higher positions come with greater responsibilities that ask for more developed emotional competencies and people with higher emotional intelligence have a greater probability to be successful.

This test provides a comprehensive assessment of emotional intelligence (on 12 facets) and gives a norm based EQ score enabling the test taker to compare himself/herself with his/her reference group.

EQ test (corporate version) is specially designed for recruitment at all levels (this test has social desirability index to assess validity of the responses).This test equally can be used for training,coaching,mentoring,career management and personal development as it provides a comprehensive assessment and personalised development advice.

SPECIFICATIONS

Objective

Emotional intelligence (often measured in terms of global EQ score) refers to the ability to understand one`s own emotions and those of others, and manage them in a timely manner. Central test started developing "business version" of the during the first half of 2007, building on the foundations of the Central EQ test (published by Central Test in early 2003). The structure of the questionnaire was given a final shape in March 2008 after a series of validation studies to confirm validity and application of the test in business settings. The final version of the test is again cross validated in May2008.

Compared to Central EQ Test, this new version includes 4 additional factors and more items per factor; and allows a better control of social desirability in context of recruitment. The factors assessed are more associated with professional life, such as "Relational Ease", "Understanding and Influence", "Empathy" and "Adaptability".

Questionnaire
The questionnaire consists of 97 questions, 85 questions are on a scale 1 to 4 points and remaining 12 are in forced choice format with 3 options (the respondent is required to select one that is most like him and one that is least like him.)
The time required to take the test is estimated at 15 to 20 minutes. As with all personality tests, this test is not timed..

2/ If a salesperson gives me much time to explain a product to me, I found it very difficult to leave him without buying anything.

Social desirability

- All the questions on 1 to 4 scale show acceptable level of variance and their distributions are close to normal.
- Items that were carrying high social desirability but were effective from measurement perspective are grouped together in force choice format to counter balance social desirability.
- A 10 item social desirability scale is used in the test to identify conscious impression management.

The EQ test (Corporate Version) in standardised on English speaking population across the globe. The sample contains data from working professionals, MBA students, top management and entrepreneures.
